Welcome to Chard and District RDA
Chard and District RDA is a charity based in Somerset, we are dedicated to providing riding opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Our mission is to help improve the lives of disabled riders through the therapeutic benefits of horses.

A message from one of our RDA riders dad.
On Saturday 27 June, my wife Lindsay and I, alongside fellow members and friends of the Saddlers’ Company, will kayak from Gosport to the Isle of Wight and back. Three miles each way over a particularly difficult stretch of water with strong currents and choppy water, let alone all of the vessels going about their voyages.
This is all to raise funds for this year’s Livery Charity, Sophie’s Legacy. Every stroke counts towards supporting families and improving children’s healthcare. Please sponsor their incredible effort:

The very next day on Sunday 28th June, I will be doing the Lundy half marathon. This route takes in precarious cliff paths, up and down to the lighthouse and goes around the island two and a half times. I would like to suggest a charity close to my heart. Our son Rowan, now 13 years old, suffers from cerebral palsy and epilepsy. He requires constant care and supervision. One of the loves of his life is riding the ponies with Chard and district RDA. If I could suggest anybody willing to help raise funds for this valuable charity, please give to:

I broke my neck, 2nd vertebrae, three years ago and getting back to any sort of fitness has been hard going especially whilst running a business and caring for our son. So, I hope, this effort is worth a small donation to either of these two amazing charities.
Thank you so much for all of your support.
